AES SPORTS DONATIONS PROGRAM

Equipment for Participation
Sport for Stronger Communities

AES connects sporting clubs, schools, businesses and community supporters with opportunities to provide new and good-quality pre-loved sporting equipment for Torres Strait Islander children, young people and communities. By improving access to appropriate sporting equipment, the program aims to encourage participation, strengthen wellbeing and create more opportunities for young people to experience the physical, social and emotional benefits of sport.

Why Sport Matters

More Than Equipment

Sport can create opportunities for young people to stay active, develop confidence, build friendships and strengthen their connection with community.
However, distance, availability and the cost of suitable equipment can make regular participation more difficult for some remote and regional communities.
Through the AES Sports Donations Program, we work with community representatives and partner organisations to identify genuine needs and coordinate practical support where it can make a meaningful difference.

What the Program Does

Connecting Generosity With Community Need

All donations are subject to suitability, current community needs, available storage and confirmed transport arrangements.
The program is designed around three key areas

Collect

We invite sporting clubs, schools, businesses and members of the community to donate suitable new or good-quality pre-loved sporting equipment.

Coordinate

AES works with community representatives to understand local priorities, appropriate equipment requirements and suitable delivery arrangements.

Support Participation

Approved donations are directed towards community-led sporting, youth engagement and wellbeing activities for Torres Strait Islander communities.
